Defect: Today Link In Date Picker Is Not Working As Expected

Symptoms
ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
Date already selected in the current month - When the user clicks the link, nothing happens
Date selected in other month - When the user clicks the link, the pop-up navigates back to the current month, but does not select today and enter it into the field.
EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
Today's Date should be returned for the Date Picker element when clicked on link Today
STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Date Picker is already select the current month, for example 2/06/2019
2. Click on the Date Picker
3. Click on the link - Today
4. Nothing happened.
5. Issue received.
BUSINESS IMPACT

The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, users cannot use the link - Today for easy access.
