PCM_OP_BULK_DELETE_OBJ & PCM_OP_DELETE_OBJ Takes Long Time For Completion (Doc ID 2559582.1)

Last updated on MARCH 28, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management - Version 7.5.0.22.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management(BRM), 7.5.0.22.0 version,

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------

It is observed that, while deleting an account and account related objects(especially for the audit objects), by PCM_OP_BULK_DELETE_OBJ & PCM_OP_DELETE_OBJ is using POID_ID0 to pick and delete the objects, it is taking very long time for the completion, as there is no index created for this column in au_billinfo_t and au_bal_grp_t .

The existing index is created on the AU_PARENT_OBJ_ID0 column only.

Here the user have upgraded their BRM 7.4 MPS2 (Maintenance PatchSet2) to 7.5 PS22 (Patchset 22) and on their 7.4 MPS2 environment, it was taking around 20 - 25 seconds.

But on 7.5 PS22, it is taking around 505 seconds. Sometimes more than 680 seconds.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
Deleting an account and account related objects should take less time for completion ie around 20 - 25 seconds.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Create a temporary account and then convert it into the actual customer account. (i.e Like converting the prospect to the actual customer).
2. Remove the temporary billinfo, bal_grp, service details, and audit data.
