SRCH_CHAR_VAL On CI_ACCT_CHAR Is Not Being Maintained Correctly By Account Replicator

Symptoms
The SRCH_CHAR_VAL column of table CI_ACCT_CHAR is not being updated when invoked from the Account Replicator page (CIPCACRN).
As an example, add a 'Short Comment' Characteristic to an existing Account, which results in:
CI_ACCT_CHAR.ADHOC_CHAR_VAL = 'this is a test'
CI_ACCT_CHAR.SRCH_CHAR_VAL = 'THIS IS A TEST'
Then use the Account / Person Replicator to replicate this Account, the ADHOC_CHAR_VAL is duplicated correctly, but the SRCH_CHAR_VAL is blank:
CI_ACCT_CHAR.ADHOC_CHAR_VAL = 'this is a test'
CI_ACCT_CHAR.SRCH_CHAR_VAL = ' '
