Unable to Load Custom Fields with load_config (Doc ID 2577428.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 16, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management - Version 7.5.0.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On all versions of Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management, it is not possible to use load_config to load data into custom classes with field names that do not start with "PIN_FLD_".

Attempting to do so will result in an aborted transaction when executing load_config:

$ load_config <arg list>
...
Input data successfullly validated.
opening PCM connection...
starting transaction...
flist initialization...
copying from commonFlist...
converting to Db format...
merging configuration object...
checking for match...
updating configuration object...
Object Update Exception.
aborting transaction...
closing PCM connection...

The exception is a "PIN_ERR_BAD_ARG" which is thrown by dm_oracle when attempting to validate the input.

As a result, no or partial data is inserted into the custom class/table.
