Symptoms

ISSUE: 'FRDomain' Autostart fails when the NodeManager 'username/password' combination is not the same as the Admin Account 'username/password' combination. This happens because the AutoStart script uses the stored Admin Account credentials to connect to both the NodeManager and Admin Server i.e.

--NodeManager connect
nmConnect(
userConfigFile='C:\\Oracle\\Middleware\\Oracle_Home\\user_projects\\domains\\FRDomain\\security\\userconfig.secure',
    userKeyFile='C:\\Oracle\\Middleware\\Oracle_Home\\user_projects\\domains\\FRDomain\\security\\userkey.secure'
etc

--Admin Server connect
connect(
userConfigFile='C:\\Oracle\\Middleware\\Oracle_Home\\user_projects\\domains\\FRDomain\\security\\userconfig.secure',
    userKeyFile='C:\\Oracle\\Middleware\\Oracle_Home\\user_projects\\domains\\FRDomain\\security\\userkey.secure'
etc

DETAILS

1)
The Oracle Clinical 5.2 Install Guide : section '6.9 Configure the FRDomain' states :

<-- START -->

Add Administrator Account
1. Provide a password for the WebLogic user account and make note of this password because it is required to install Oracle Clinical.

<-- END -->

and

<-- START -->

Node Manager
1. Define the Node Manager username and password and make note of them because they are required to install Oracle Clinical.

<-- END -->

i.e. it is not clear that:

Therefore one can easily proceed with specifying a *different* user/password for the FRDomain Node Manager which differs from the Administrator (weblogic) username/password.

2)
Now if different users/passwords are specified for the FRDomain 'Node Manager' user and Administrator (weblogic) user then it is not possible to start the FRDomain Node Manager using the 'autostartfrdomain.cmd' AutoStart script. The associated log file ('autostartfrdomain2.err') file contains following error:

WLSTException: Error occurred while performing nmConnect : Cannot connect to Node Manager : Received error message from Node Manager Server: [Access to domain 'FRDomain' for user 'weblogic' denied]. Please check Node Manager log for details.
