Enhancement: Increase Decimal Places (Doc ID 2584495.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 03, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle Health Insurance Claims Adjudication - Version 3.18.3.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Description of Enhancement Request:
Increase the decimal places on exchange rates from 6 to 12. Currently the rate field stores a maximum of 6 decimals and we receive up to 12 decimals.  This leads to a lot of rounding issues for the business.

Example:
Claim of 5000 KES
Conversion to UGX by using the following rate : 35.2365 = UGX176182.50
Once confirmed it is converted back to KES by using the following rate: 0.028379 = UGX4999.88

The change is very small, but it will be completely eliminated if the system allowed 9 decimals instead of 6.

Example:
Claim of 5000 KES
Conversion to UGX by using the following rate : 36.500218480 = UGX182501.09
Once confirmed, conversion back to KES by using the following rate: 0.027397096 = UGX5000
