RMS Pricing Integration Batch Error For EVENT_ID Larger Than 6 Digits (Doc ID 2586966.1)

Symptoms

EVENT_ID is allowed up to 15 digits in the RMS Pricing Integration design for RIB message XPRCEVENTDESC and the staging table SVC_PRICING_EVENT_HEAD.

Pricingeventprocess.ksh batch is throwing error message for pricing events that have EVENT_ID larger than 6 digits because PRICE_HIST table is not able to accommodate it in the EVENT column.

Error ORA-12899: value too large for column "RMS"."PRICE_HIST"."EVENT" (actual: 8, maximum: 6) returned by program unit CORESVC_XPRICE_SQL.INSERT_PRICE_HIST.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Populate staging table in RMS, SVC_PRICING_EVENT_HEAD with EVENT_ID larger than 6 digits for any EVENT_TYPE.
  2. Make sure the effective date is the next day for the event.
  3. Process the event using pricingeventprocess.ksh batch.
  4. Notice the error message in the SVC_PRICING_EVENT_TEMP table after the batch completion.
