Policy Specifications of System Product Not Getting Evaluated for Supplementary Lines Usage (Doc ID 2599939.1)

Last updated on APRIL 29, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle Communications BRM - Elastic Charging Engine - Version and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

There is a requirement from customer to share data of primary line in all of its secondary/Supplementary services. To enable this, discount sharing functionality of Billing and Revenue (BRM) is used.

In an account, purchase the main subscription along with the discount product for consumption of the free data granted.
Customer is given options to have more than one supplementary lines, these supplementary lines share/consume data from the main subscription through DSG (Discount Sharing Group).

There is a system level product configured for policy profiles to OCPM (Oracle Communications Policy Management),
that is in one of the system discount set the policy label as "XX-YYY" which shares the in-allowance or out-Allowance flags to OCPM when an usage is initiated (SLR - Spending-Limit-Request)

What customer observed is, the policy specification of system discount is getting evaluated when SLR is triggered for main line service, however when the same is triggered on the supplementary line policy specification set on the system product does not get evaluated, thus SLA (Spending-Limit Answers) does not show/share labels leading to failure in policy derivation in OCPM.

System discount should be evaluated for secondary lines as well.
