Symptoms
While trying to configure an HA multiplexed instance of Instant Messaging server, one may notice the inability to get past the point where the "Connecting..." status is shown at the right-side bottom corner of the Convergence webpage.
A high level overview of the architecture is five hosts, one host running Convergence 3.0.1.4.0, two hosts running Instant Messaging multiplexer and two hosts running Instant Messaging web server.
With the following attributes being being confirmed to be correctly configured:
- ID, JID, and password on the IM servers
- Hash-encrypted password in the Convergence config file
the following lines are observed in the xmppd.log file:
Possible causes would be the steps performed to set up the multiplexors, the IM web servers for HA, or incorrect ports being used.
Due to this issue, users cannot use the IM component of Convergence.
