Updating 'Shell Status' to Active Results in Error "Invalid Email Address"

When attempting to reactivate a project (shell), the following alert (error) occurs.
Alert - Email Address is Invalid
The issue can be reproduced at will using the following steps:
- Access as user with permissions to re-activate a project
- Attempt to re-active the project
- Results is that the email address is not valid and therefore the project cannot be re-activated
