Cassandra Storehostlist Configuration And Mailhost Attribute On User - Sent Email Messages Appear In Sent Folder, But Never Arrive At Recipient Mailbox (Doc ID 2610082.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 08, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Messaging Server - Version 8.0.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When sending an email in Convergence, the message never arrives in the Inbox of the recipient, but is listed and can be read in the Sent folder of the sender.

Investigating the MTA reveals an error message in the logs which indicated that the LMTP string being used for communication between mail servers is incorrect.

The system attempts to reply with the mail_administrator account, but that email is also not received, presumably for the same reason.

It is suspected that the issue has to do with having multiple MTA servers in this Cassandra configuration. Other non-production environments have been set up and are working, but each has only a single MTA mail store server.

The following configuration parameters are set:

proxy:store1.storehostlist
proxy:store1.hostselect
channel:tcp_lmtpcs.affinitylist

Seeing the following entry in the MTA mail.log_current file when this problem occurs:

Which matches the config from msconfig:

role.proxy:store1.storehostlist =hosta1@example.com hostb1@example.com hosta2@example.com hostb2@example.com

Due to this issue, users cannot receive email.
