Database_request_timeout_duration Parameter To Be Implemented For Dm_ifw_sync
(Doc ID 2625168.1)
Last updated on AUGUST 22, 2024
Applies to:
Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management - Version 7.5.0.21.0 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Goal
Scenario:
- On a customer's production system, there was a database issue due to which the advanced queue (IFW_SYNC_QUEUE) was blocked and could not be accessed.
- After a little while, all Data Manager (DM) back-ends for DM_IFW_SYNC where blocked because of the above condition.
- The rest of the system was still available for other operations as it was protected by Connection Manager (CM) timeout.
- So the issue here is that dm_ifw_sync had no way to timeout in this situation such that it could be available for further operations.
Expectation:
DM_IFW_SYNC should support the configuration parameter "database_request_timeout_duration" just like it is supported by DM_ORACLE so that it can timeout after the specified amount of time.
