DOC file was imported as DOCX for R3 File

Symptoms
User imported R3 file with OOB EMA message profile. The incoming XML file was having DOC file embedded in it i.e. -

However, after import the system converted DOC file to DOCX format. Once the user accepted the incoming file, DOC file was not available under Additional Information tab. However, the user noticed DOCX file was present.
User tried to open DOCX file in the case and got below error message.
"Windows cannot open file because the file format does not match the file extension".
Once the user changed the extension to DOC from DOCX, the user was able to open the attachment.
