Void Return Transaction Type is Not Updating Inventory Through POSTransaction Web-service (Doc ID 2626754.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 09, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle Retail Store Inventory Management - Version 16.0.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In case of transaction type "Void Return", the POSTransaction web-service is not updating inventory in Store Inventory Management (SIM). Although, the transaction can be seen in the transaction history records.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Consider a store item combination with some positive inventory.
  2. Make a sale transaction from xstore/standalone using POSTransaction web-service. The inventory for the item/store combination gets decremented properly. The transaction history gets updated successfully.
  3. Make a return transaction from xstore/standalone using POSTransaction web-service. The inventory for the item/store combination gets incremented properly. The transaction history gets updated successfully.
  4. Make a void return transaction from xstore/standalone using POSTransaction web-service. The transaction history gets updated successfully, but there is no impact (increment/decrement) on inventory. Ideally, the inventory should have got decremented for a void return transaction.
