Multiple Search Terms Containing Thesaurus Entries Do Not Return Results (Doc ID 2632228.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 30, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle Commerce Guided Search / Oracle Commerce Experience Manager - Version 11.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Searches containing more than three terms, including thesaurus terms, do not return results.

In some complex scenario, where auto-correct feature would be to expensive in therms of performance, customers choose to create thesaurus entries for misspelled words.

Example:

termA is included in the thesaurus list, in an out of the box MDEX configuration. A search is performed on storefront for termA+termB+termC_termD

Regardless of what the other terms are, the termA will not be interpreted by the Thesaurus expansion, because by default, thesaurus terms are applied to search queries with maximum three terms.
