Gap in time-based prices can cause incorrect price to show on site (Doc ID 2634860.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 15, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Commerce Platform - Version 11.3.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When there is a gap in the time-based prices for an item and when a price is requested, an incorrect price is shown on the site.

Time-based prices with a gap would typically be done for a sale pricelist to indicate times when the item is on sale and other times when it is not. When the item is not on sale, the logic would fall back to the separate list pricelist.

For example:

For a particular item on the sale pricelist, lets say there is price of $10 for Jan. 1st - Jan. 7th and a price of $15 for Jan. 9th - Jan. 14th.

If the price is requested on Jan. 8th first, it correctly returns null from the sale pricelist and uses the price from the list pricelist.

But then when you request it on Jan. 9th, it incorrectly still returns null from the sale pricelist and continues to use the price from the list pricelist.
