Error: 'ORA-01745: invalid host/bind variable name' When Attempting to Publish Some Projects in P6 EPPM (Doc ID 2639387.1)

Symptoms

Publication fails for some projects with the following error in the <P6 EPPM or P6 Services home>\p6\WebAccessLogs\Services\jt_project\<date-time>_FAILED.log.

[TASK]:[PxServiceCalendarSqlWriter]: [5] CORE(BRE): Failed to update calendar: <calendar ID>   
[TASK]:[PxServiceCalendarSqlWriter]: [5] CORE(BRE): ORA-01745: invalid host/bind variable name

 

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Publish a project.
  2. The job shows as 'Failed'.
  3. Observe the reported error in the log file.
