Error while canceling active severance process and acceptance payments

User getting below error while creating a payment event on an account, the account has an active severance process and on checking the logs we found the system is unable to cancel the active severance process and getting errored out, however, if we cancel the severance process manually the payment is processed, Please note this error is for some accounts only, most of the accounts with active severance process are accepting the payments.
Moreover, the same account is not giving any error if we make a partial payment because the severance process is not cancelled in that case, but if we make full payment of the due amount the system throws this error, please advise.
