TLS Handshake Is Not Working From A Client Application With Server Hostname Added In The Certificate (Doc ID 2643429.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 23, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management - Version 7.5.0.20.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

One is trying to enable TLS (Transport Layer Security) for Client tools (testnap in this case) by following below steps:

1) Create certificate, Server side and client side
2) Installed Server side certificate in CM (Connection Manager) and DM (Data Manager)
3) Installed client side certificate in test folders pin.conf
4) and then trying to connect with testnap

Observation:

a) With Client tool (testnap) connecting to server (CM) with server IP (Internet Protocol) address in the connection string is successful.
b) Whereas, if customer has load balancer in between testnap and CM, then the connection from testnap to Server is not successful. Testnap log shows below error:

c) Hence the TLS handshake is not working from a client application with server hostname added in the certificate .

Question:

How the TLS connection can be achieved between testnap and CM with load balancer configured in between them?
