The LDAP SSL Connection Test Is Failed With Error "{LDAP server name or IP address}:{port}; socket closed." (Doc ID 2648428.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to test the LDAP SSL connection,
the following error occurs.

ERROR

{LDAP server name or IP address}:{port}; socket closed.

 


STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Log on P6 Administrator (adminpv.cmd/.sh)
  2. Go to the "Authentication" tab. Expand the Database instance node under the P6 configuration being used.
  3. Populate the correct LDAP connection info. i.e. Host, Port, Username, Password, etc.
  4. Set Enable SSL to True, and the Port to a SSL port number.
  5. Right click the LDAP Connection Settings entry and Test Connection. Above error pops up.
  6. However after setting Enable SSL to False and change the Port to a Non SSL port number, Test Connection is successful.

Due to this issue, users cannot test the LDAP SSL connection successfully.
