Configuration of DriverIp and BackupDriverIp Parameters (Doc ID 2652537.1)

Last updated on MARCH 26, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle Communications BRM - Elastic Charging Engine - Version 11.3.0.6.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

An user has the driverIP parameter set only and has the following questions:

1) What is the purpose of the driver machine? What issues could happen if the driver machine is unexpectedly (assume a server crash) lost?
2) How to add the backupDriverIP on an already running production environment? Would a rolling upgrade of all nodes needed?
3) The current configuration is composed of 5 servers and equipped to survive if two servers lost. Assuming a scenario where both the driver and the backup machines are lost, how to modify the driverIP parameter so that one of the remaining 3 servers become the new driver?
