Symptoms
MSS 6.3.0.1003 | Equipments
=========== ============
A new equipment instance gets multiple ports, instead of one port with multiple rate codes.
Example :
There is an existing equipment spec ,it has 24 level one DS3 ports each with 28 level two DS1 ports. An additional STS1 rate code is added to the 23rd level one port.Level two DS1 ports are added to the new STS1 level one row.
These are needed because the existing level two ports from the DS3 won¿t stay when a piece of equipment is switched from DS3 to STS1. A new equipment instance is "installed" from the modified spec.
Please refer the attached document for steps of how the equipment in Installed .
ACTUAL BEHAVIOUR:
==================
Ports are created for both the DS3 rate code and the STS1 rate code, for a total of 25 level one ports.
EXPECTED BEHAVIOUR
====================
The application incorrectly adds the additional rate codes as actual ports to the installed equipment " instead of displaying them as additional rate codes for the same port. "
WORKAROUNDS
===========
Use ADD option to install equipment in the equipment inventory.
Created spec w/additional ports . Added using ADD option in equipment inventory > No issues and ports displayed correctly.
