How to Determine How Much Space Will Be Needed for Elastic Search?

A large message might be mostly an image attachment containing nothing indexable. A large document might contain some words repeated many times. So the amount of data sent to Elastic might not be directly related to the size of the message.

Is there a log entry that provide info about the number of words and the total size of the data sent to Elastic Search?
