Context Type Values Are Sorting By CODE Instead Of SEQUENCE in SIM UI (Doc ID 2669623.1)

Last updated on MAY 19, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle Retail Store Inventory Management - Version 16.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Since there are no security permissions on Context Type, Retailers need to be able to control the order they are displayed to users, in order to prevent them from using context types that are for system Transfers only. The current sort order in the drop down is by CODE. CODE values cannot be modified to control ordering, since those values are used in integration layers and need to remain consistent. Not sorting by sequence prevents from controlling the display without creating re-work in integration.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR

Expect the the values are controllable to sort them based on the sequence.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Login to SIM.
2. Click on Shipping/Receiving.
3. Click on Transfer.
4. Click on Create Transfer.
5. Click on dropdown for Context Type.
6. Note that the sequence of the context type is alphabetical by code.
