The P6 Startup Script Fails with Error "Access is denied" or "Could not find or load main class weblogic.Server" (Doc ID 2676388.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to start P6 EPPM/WebLogic using the <P6 EPPM home>\scripts\start_Primavera.bat or <Oracle Middleware home>\user_projects\domains\<P6 EPPM domain>\startWebLogic.cmd command files, one or both of the following errors occur.

Access is denied

Could not find or load main class weblogic.Server

 

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Double-click the start_Primavera.bat or startWebLogic.cmd file to run it.
  2. Observe that nothing happens.
  3. Run start_Primavera.bat or startWebLogic.cmd from the command line (in a Command Prompt window).
  4. Observe the reported error.
