DMW: If You Change a Data Model Name, for Free Built Expressions, the Data Model Name Change May Not be Reflected (Doc ID 2680171.1)

Last updated on JUNE 19, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle Health Sciences Data Management Workbench - Version 2.5.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

DMW 2.5 and 2.5.1, for Expressions built with Expression Builder, you notice that for more complex expressions like SUBSTR, REGEXP_SUBSTR, DECODE, TRUNC, if you change of the data model name, the Data Model Name is changed.

However, if you had manually typed in the Expression (versus using the builder), when you change the Data Model Name, the name change is NOT changed (not reflected in the updated Expression). It is showing the old name.

Also, an Expression, if manually changed in any way, the new Data Model Name also is NOT reflecting.

This is the problem.  Users want the *new* Data Model Name to be reflected in the Expression.
