Goal

Qn: It is possible to convert the decimal field values into packaged decimal values inside invoices?
In some cases, invoice amount is set in decimal format and there is a need to be moved to packed decimal.

PACKED DECIMAL datatype converts between non-integral numbers in Oracle and a datatype that is suitable for calculation. In COBOL, the data area must be a signed COMP-3 field with an implied decimal point. The number of digits to the right of the decimal point is specified in the FMT parameter of the ODEFIN or ODEFINPS routine and in the SCALE parameter.
