MRPFDSRA - Form Allows Duplicate Sourcing Rule Assignments When Overwriting Record (Doc ID 268597.1)

Last updated on MARCH 12, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Materials Requirement Planning - Version 11.5.9 to [Release 11.5]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Sourcing Rule Assignment form allows duplicate sourcing rule assignment records to be entered if records are overwritten instead of added. Duplicate sourcing rule assignments for the same item will cause MRP to fail.

1. Purchasing Super User > Supply Base > Assign Sourcing Rules
2. Create two new sourcing rule assignments:
a) item-org level, specific item, for a selected sourcing rule
b) category level, selected category, same sourcing rule

3. Now OVERWRITE the sourcing rule assignment record created in 2(b) to have
the same values as 2(a). The form allows you to save this duplicate record.
If the duplicate record is entered without overwriting (by using 'New Record')
the form correctly prevents entry of the duplicate.
