You Encounter "ORA-20003: The object is not in a valid state for the requested operation (ops_enabled)" Installing a Work Area (Doc ID 2687245.1)

Symptoms

On Oracle Health Sciences Data Management Workbench (DMW) 2.4.8.5, when trying to install a Data Model, the following error messages are generated in the corresponding Work Area installation log and OWB log:

 

ERROR

ORA-20003: The object is not in a valid state for the requested operation (ops_enabled)
ORA-06512: at "OWBSYS.WB_RTI_EXCEPTIONS", line 131
ORA-06512: at "OWBSYS.WB_RTI_DEPLOYMENT", line 1673
ORA-06512: at "OWBSYS.WB_RT_DEPLOYMENT", line 321
ORA-06512: at "APPS.CDR_EX_INST_CONTROLLER", line 7346
ORA-06512: at "APPS.CDR_EX_INST_CONTROLLER", line 8127

 

- You may also see these errors:

ORA-00904: "<COLUMN_NAME>": invalid identifier

ORA-04063: view "<SCHEMA_NAME>.<OBJECT_NAME>" has errors

PLSQL Operator: statement:"begin <SCHEMA_NAME>.PLSQL_UTIL_PROG_PKG.PROCESSPLSQLUTILJOB ; end;" caught:java.sql.SQLException: ORA-20200: *** ERROR: Error during Workarea Install

ORA-00957: duplicate column name

 

You may see several column rename statements like:

ALTER TABLE "<SCHEMA_NAME"."<OBJECT_NAME>" RENAME COLUMN "COLUMN_NAME" TO "COLUMN_NAME2"




Changes

 Users made column name changes before attempting to install the Work Area.
