While purchasing a deal, only one discount is getting applied to the ARC (Annual Recurring Charge) event, but the discount amount is getting split into two balance arrays.

There is no issue with the total charge and discount amounts and those are accurate. However, other subsystems doesn't expect one discount being split into two line items, so their functionality breaks.

The deal which is purchased has following three products and three discounts.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1) Product 1 - Annual Recurring Charge of 700.
2) Product 2 - Monthly Recurring Charge 1.
3) Product 3 - Monthly Recurring Charge 2.
4) Discount 1 - Applies to ARC with validity period one year
5) Discount 2 - Applies to MRC 1 with validity period 3 months
6) Discount 3 - Applies to MRC 2 with validity period 3 months

After analyzing the cm.pinlog, it's found that the discount on ARC is getting split because there are two other discounts with a shorter validity period.
If the two MRC (Monthly Recurring Charge) discounts are removed, the split doesn't take place.
The issue happens in BRM itself, as it splits the discount array into two periods before sending the flist to the pipeline.
