AService: TLS 1.3 Connection Problems
(Doc ID 2697150.1)
Last updated on JUNE 26, 2023
Applies to:
Oracle Communications Messaging Server - Version 8.1.0 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
Using a version of Java that supports TLS 1.3 and the latest version of JavaMail. When the MMP is configured with "imapproxy.plaintextmincipher" set to "1" then the capability being returned to the client on connection contains LOGINDISABLED.
For Example:
If "imapproxy.plaintextmincipher" is set to "0" then the banner does contain "AUTH=PLAIN" but also "STARTTLS".
sslconnect still shows "AUTH=PLAIN" but not "STARTTLS", so the responses are still different between JavaMail and sslconnect even in this case.
After enabling TLS 1.3 on MMPs this did cause a problem for at least one application as it was no longer able to perform imap logins.
