Oracle Utilities Analytics - Queries regarding the replica layer

Customer is looking at the possible options for ad hoc querying for data elements not available in OUA data mart. We know OUA data mart can be extended/customized, but to reduce the dependency on that - needed to know if the replica layer is designed to be used for such use case. This is a priority and critical requirement. Please clarify on below

1. Can the OUA replica layer be used to meet the requirement for ad-hoc querying of the data elements that are not brought into data mart?
2. What should be the setting for parameter ‘Replication Retention Days’ ( which has default value of 60) to support this use case? Is there any impact to making the change to making the data persistent?
3. Are there any limitations on the number of tables that can be replicated?
4. Are there any limitations/ recommendations to consider while enabling ad hoc from replica layer
