RMS 16.0.3 DB Installer Failed Due to ANT_HOME Error (Doc ID 2703329.1)

Symptoms

Oracle Retail Merchandising System (RMS) 16.0.3 DB installer fails with ANT error as below. 

ERROR

*************************************************

Verified NLS_LANG: AMERICAN_AMERICA.AL32UTF8
JAVA_HOME=/java/jdk1.7/jdk1.7.0_x
Verified Java version 1.7.0.x or greater. Java version: 1.7.0
ANT_HOME=$STAGING_DIR/rms/installer/mom/Build/orpatch/deploy/ant
ERROR: Ant version not 1.9.6.x or greater.
ERROR: Ant version:
ERROR: Run the command:
ERROR: unset ANT_HOME;
ERROR: To have installer use default ANT_HOME located at ./mom/Build/orpatch/deploy/ant

Preinstallation check failed. Verify preinstallation checklist and try again.

 

Steps to Reproduce:

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Use Java 1.7+ when installing RMS 16.0.3 DB with Oracle Database Enterprise Edition 12cR1 (12.1.0.2).

2. Export environment variables.

3. Run the installer RMS DB Installer.

$ ./install.sh

4. Received the error.
