Convergence Users With Non-ASCII Characters In The Password Cannot Login
(Doc ID 2712728.1)
Last updated on FEBRUARY 15, 2024
Applies to:
Oracle Communications Convergence - Version 3.0.1 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
Users that changed their password (using the Convergence settings menu) to include non ascii characters (e.g: à which has hex: c3 a0) can no longer login in Convergence.
After capturing network traffic in the lab, the following was observed:
- When user changes the password, the correct password is stored in ldap. The problem only happens at login time (during the login time, the non-ascii characters in the password are modified by Convergence/Java before sending to ldap for validation)
- The problem was observed on the Convergence-to-Ldap communication. So the issue does not occur between the browser-to-Convergence communication (http protocol).
