Error "The network adapter could not establish the connection / Caused by: Java.Net.UnknownHostException" When Attempting to Export an XML File in P6 Professional (Doc ID 2713567.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to export an XML file in P6 Professional, the export fails and the following error appears in the log file:

com.primavera.PhoenixException: Unable to resolve privileged username and password
IO Error: The Network Adapter could not establish the connection

Caused by: oracle.net.ns.NetException: The Network Adapter could not establish the connection
at oracle.net.nt.ConnStrategy.execute(ConnStrategy.java:392)

Caused by: java.net.UnknownHostException: Database host name XXXXXXXXX
at java.net.Inet6AddressImpl.lookupAllHostAddr(Native Method)
at java.net.InetAddress$1.lookupAllHostAddr(Unknown Source)

 

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Login to P6 Pro.
2. Export a project as an XML file.
3. Observe the reported error.
