CSV Data Sets Export Error (Doc ID 2723370.1)

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR

When exporting data set to CSV when the language is Russian, the file opens with garbage characters. As a work around, after opening the file in Excel, users go to "Data --> From text/CSV-file --> 65001: Unicode (UTF-8) --> Load" and the data adjusts appropriately.

The CSV file that Unifier generates is utf-8 non-BOM (Byte Order Mark) file and it appears that Excel cannot handle these types of files when the language is Russian. Is possible to make Unifier generate .CSV files in UTF-8 with BOM or in UTF-16 to make Excel open the file without any issues?

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Log in to Unifier with a user that has a language preference of Russian
  2. Navigate to Company Workspace --> Admin mode --> Data structure setup --> Data definitions --> Basic
  3. Open any Data Set that has Russian
  4. Click on Data Set tab
  5. Click on Export button
  6. Save csv file.
