Symptoms
The "imcheck -e" command needs to list the expunge date/time.
Refer here for information on imcheck: https://docs.oracle.com/communications/F15020_01/doc.810/f15146/msadm_store_reference.htm#MSVAG2332
The command "imcheck -m user/<userid>/<folder> -e" used to list the date/time when the message was expunged.
This was before a design change a few years ago.
The store.exp file used to contain both the uid number and the date/time when the message was expunged, so imcheck -e could list the date/time when each message was expunged.
The design change is understood. The exact date/time when individual messages were expunged is no longer available.
However, the date/time of the group of each store.exp. does exist.
If that information was available when we started trying to recover from an event where all mail older than one day was removed from all the folders of 14k users, we could have identified the specific messages accidentally expunged and then used mboxutil -R -U to un-expunge them.
Instead, we had to remove the most recently modified store.exp* files and then embark on days of reconstructs.
This request is asking for "imcheck -m -e" to display at least the date/time of the store.exp file.
