Duplicate Search via Case Open Screen Throws Error and Gets Stuck in a Loop
(Doc ID 2733201.1)
Last updated on DECEMBER 07, 2020
Applies to:Oracle Argus Safety - Version 8.2.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
While attempting to search for a patient using initials (with a broad search string) an error message is thrown, and cannot be cleared from the browser
Error No: -2146233088 Description: Some search criteria are too broad. Please specify more information within them. Patient Name-->R
Whilst the cause of the error is known (Essentially too many records returned by search) - Per Error No: 2146233088 Description: Object Reference Not Set To An Instance Of An Object (Doc ID 1578907.1)
The issue is that after user hits [OK] on the message above, normally they would be returned to query screen to re-enter the query criteria (to narrow the search).
However, in Argus Safety 8.2.2 this does not happen, after user hits [OK] button the error will return and loop continuously.
Only way to exit is by killing the browser session via Task Manager.
Steps to reproduce (will only replicate if large numbers are returned by query):
- Argus Safety Version 8.2.2
- [Case Actions] > New
- Place cursor in the 'First/Last Name or Initials' field
- Enter 'R' and then click on [Search]
Recent upgrade to Argus Safety Version 8.2.2 from Argus Safety 18.104.22.168
