Launch Agile Via Oracle Client (Doc ID 2739036.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 30, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle Agile PLM Framework - Version 9.3.6.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Is it possible to use DB client installed locally by DB information when Agile is installed? (use connection information from tnsnames.ora)

Subsequent question:

--RAC is a 2-node configuration
--Do not use SCAN because DNS is not used
--Since SCAN is not used, and want to perform load balancing on the client side.
--DB Client is installed on the App server, and SQL PLUS can be connected with just the net service name.

Please answer whether WebLogic and Agile can be installed as a DB server or not.

When doing the following load balancing on the client tnsnames.ora,

agile2=
(DESCRIPTION=
 (ADDRESS_LIST =
   (LOAD_BALANCE=ON)(FAILOVER=ON)
   (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=[IP_ADDRESS_NODE1])(PORT=1522))
   (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=[IP_ADDRESS_NODE2])(PORT=1522))
 )
 (CONNECT_DATA=(SERVICE_NAME=[FQDN]))
)

When I try to connect with sqlplus, only 1 is connected, and 2 and 3 are not connected with ORA-12545.

1) sqlplus agile/tartan@agile2
2) sqlplus agile/tartan@localhost:1522:agile2
3) sqlplus agile/tartan@localhost:1521/[FQDN]

If there is no way to connect with a few expressions (or expressions close to them), it seems that various installers can not connect either.
