Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR

Executing the SQL_Mangler_Script.sql script does not mask the data as intended.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR

The database-mangling script for the Microsoft SQL Server database platform should render unintelligible all sensitive information found within the database - all names of Projects, Users, Activities, Resources, EPS and WBS, along with other data tied to those items.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Connect to the Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio as sa using SQL Server Authentication.
  2. Expand Databases on the left, then right-click the desired database name and choose New Query.
  3. Copy the contents of the SQL_Mangler_Script.sql script into the window then click Execute.
  4. Review the database data and note that sensitive data has not been changed.

Changes

The SQL Server database utilizes the NVARCHAR datatype.
