Goal
Qn1:
For the installation of ECE 12 ( https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E51000_01/doc.120/f14194/ece-installation-overview1.htm#ECEIN-GUID-1F4AEE79-EAA7-40E4-BABD-765405C5CF34 ), the note specifies that there is no direct upgrade from an earlier Elastic Charging Engine (ECE) release (e.g. from ECE 11.3 version to ECE 12), and from the steps in the documentation it seems that the upgrade plan would have to be:
1) Install ECE 12.
2) Stop the ECE 11.3 cluster.
3) Start the ECE 12 cluster and load all information from Billing and Revenue Management (BRM)/Pricing Design Center (PDC) databases from zero.
Given that the client is charging real-time prepaid customers, there would be a significant financial impact if the client had to stop the current ECE cluster altogether. Please provide clarification if the steps above are indeed what the documentation states, and if such, to provide with possible alternatives to avoid having to stop the charging of real-time events while loading the data to the new ECE 12 cluster.
Qn2:
What are the steps to execute in order to upgrade from ECE 11.3 PS9 to ECE 12?
