Question: Authorization IP Ind_inherit Indicator (Doc ID 2746352.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 27, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle Health Insurance Claims Adjudication - Version 3.19.2.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Issue in production related to authorizations where the messages on Auth are not getting inherited on the claim lines when that auth (with a message) is consume.

In 2.16.1 (Auth was on SOAP): In Authorization IP(SOAP), we never sent the ind_inherit indicator on the Auth request. We do not see this attribute in the XSD.
In 3.19.2 (Auth was converted on REST): In Authorization IP (REST), under authorizationMessageList tag, ind_inherit became mandatory and we are sending the ind_inherit indicator as false.

We have a question to OHI to clarify:
Was there any data conversion of ind_inherit on auth messages table name “ohi_authorization_messages”?
If Not, was there a default logic in SOAP interface (in 2.16.1) which was setting the value to Y for ind_inherit indicator? as SOAP XSD do not have any attribute for ind_inherit till 2.16.1
If we need to be consistent with 2.16.1, can we setup the ind_inherit to ‘true’ by default in Authorization IP?
