Problems Changing Password Using MetaSolv Solution with Active Directory (AD) User Authentication While User Still Logged In (Doc ID 2749766.1)

Oracle Communications MetaSolv Solution - Version 6.3.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Problems running MetaSolv Solution using Active Directory (AD) user authentication. If a user has a MetaSolv Solution client (tbs.exe) session open which has been sitting idle for a period of time (*) and their AD password is changed, the application will throw several "ORA-01017: invalid username/password" errors when attempting to conduct some activity and eventually crash. The application should process the invalid username/password error when attempting to re-authenticate and prompt the user to enter their new password in order to continue working or the application should at least gracefully exit.

* NOTE: Greater than 15 minutes of true idle time meaning the user has not conducted any activity in the session and the user has no polling preferences having a frequency interval less than 15 minutes. The 15 minute time significance is related to the HTTP session time out configuration that cannot be changed in the WebLogic Server Administration Console as MetaSolv Solution has overridden it with a Deployment Descriptor session-timeout mechanism packaged in the nur.ear/main.war/web.xml.

Below is the first error message received after the password was changed externally. Note the error is received multiple times depending on the application window that was open when the next client activity was initiated from.

1st Error
