Goal

Requirement is to setup/configure service names & product/discount names in Japanese language (characters) in a Pricing Design Center (PDC) - Billing and Revenue Management (BRM) setup.

While the creation of such a product for example goes through fine and stores the value in database in Japanese, the question is whether one should be concerned about any potential issues due to using Japanese characters, say during billing or invoicing.

For example:

select name from product_t ;
