Import Fails to Update Existing Rows in Relationship Tab Using Multi Row Update Mode: Add/Update only (Doc ID 2756513.1)

Fails to update the attributes of the Relationships tab of the Item object with below message in the import log:


{Item Number} {Object Type} is already related to {Item Number}


The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Log into Java Client, and enable Text01, List01, List02 attributes for Parts.Relationships tab
  2. Log into Web Client, and create a Part P01
  3. Go to Relationships tab, and add a Part P02
  4. Edit the row so that it will have below data:
    Text01: test123
    List01: A01
    List02: B01
  5. Prepare Import source file with below information:
    Import Source File
    Item.Number Relationship.Number Description Type Text01 List01 List02
    P01 P02 Part test456 A02 B02
  6. Run Tools > Import
  7. For Import File, select the file created in step 5
  8. Click Preferences
  9. Go to Business Rules, and have Multi Row Update Mode: Add/Update only
  10. Next
  11. Select Item | Relationships, and Next
  12. Map the attributes, and Next
  13. Import
  14. Gets message:
    Line 2[ Part - Number: P00043; Relationships: Number: P02; Type: Part]:
        Part P02 is already related to Part P01
