STG_COMMODITIES Vs STG_FX_CONTRACTs usage in reg reporting (Doc ID 2766707.1)

Last updated on APRIL 12, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle Financial Services Data Foundation - Version 8.0.7 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Clarifcation on STG_COMMODITIES & STG_FX_CONTRACTs

Issue:
1. STG_COMMODITIES is mentioned as requirement in 8084 Data elements and Consolidated Wave document (but there are no numerical fields included)
Further based on discussions with USFED PMG, it was suggested that STG_COMMODITIES will be deprecated as
Commodity Spot - will be sourced in STG_FX_CONTRACTs
Commodity Fwds- will be sourced in STG_FORWARDS
Commodity Futs - will be sourced in STG_FUTURES
Commodity Swaps - will be sourced in STG_SWAPS_CONTRACTS
Commodity Options - will be sourced in STG_OPTION_CONTRACTS

2. If above is confirmed (ie STG_COMMODITIES is not required and will be deprecated)
then STG_FX_CONTRACTs will require update in definition, as current definition only mentions FX and not commodities. It should be enhanced to include all SPOT contracts.
