Symptoms

When installing Autovue, gets below error in the installation wizard


Error

Default socket port 5099 is in use or is not available. Specify a different socket port for Autovue Server


Facts

- Port 5099 is available and not used by the other application
- Installing on a new server machine

Steps

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Run AutoVue Installer on the server machine
  2. The installation wizard appears
  3. Input host name when prompted, and Next
  4. Input port 5099 for the socket port when prompted, and Next
  5. Gets the message in the installation wizard
