Fedwire message with 1520 tag as optional fails with error as mandatory (Doc ID 2783275.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 25, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Financial Services Transaction Filtering - Version 8.0.8.1.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

when processing a Fedwire message with 1520 tag as optional from Mandatory by adjusting the configuration in UI , user encounters below processing error in logs.

rti-server.log

"Unexpected exception occurred while determining direction from message data"

Steps to Reproduce :

1) Log in with TFadmin user  ---> Navigate to Fedwire configuration

2) Change the Tag 1520 from M(Mandatory) to O(optional).

3) Post a Fedwire message without 1520 Tag.

Actual behavior : The parser still expects the Tag 1520 as mandatory thought changed to optional and throws error in the logs.

Expected behavior : The Fedwire message should be parsed without any error though the tag 1520 is optional as per configuration.
