Forecast Rates ID Closes With General Protection Fault (GPF) in POOL2.DLL in RM 4.5 (Doc ID 278461.1)

Last updated on JULY 31, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Risk Manager - Version 4.5.39 to 4.5.41
Information in this document applies to any platform.
Oracle Financial Services Applications (OFSA) 4.5
Note: All OFSA 4.5 products have reached sustaining support.

In Oracle Risk Manager (RM) 4.5, when opening a Forecast Rates ID and choosing 'Change from Base' to view, RM closes with the following error:

OFSRM casued a General Protection Fault in module POOL2.dll at 00OA:2D86.
Choose close. OFSRM will close.

You have created a Forecast Rates ID similar to the following:

  1. Create a new Forecast Rates ID
  2. Set up nine rate scenarios
  3. Save the Forecast Rates ID
  4. Use 'Change from Base' forecast method for all IRCs with Scenario 1 as the base scenario.
  5. Save the Forecast Rates ID
  6. Manually load all OFSA_FCAST_IRC_CHG_BASE_VAL rate rows for all 9 scenarios for all IRCs.
  7. Open the Forecast Rates Id

You have already checked for inconsistency between OFSA_FCAST_RATES_SCENARIOS and OFSA_FCAST_IRCS as per <Document ID 276584.1>.  There is no inconsistency in this case.  All interest rate codes have a row in OFSA_FCAST_IRCS for each scenario in OFSA_FCAST_RATES_SCENARIOS.

You have also already checked to make sure there are less than 32,000 rows in OFSA_IRC_RATE_TERMS as per <Document ID 268473.1>.
