Installing A Data Model In Production Life Cycle Throws Unexpected Error (Doc ID 2789799.1)

Symptoms

Data model install in production life cycle fails immediately with a popup message saying: "DMW-XXX : An unexpected error occurred. Please try again. If the error persists please contact the system administrator."

No install log is created.

Changes

 A table in the data model was recently updated and promoted to production.
